Understanding Candidate Ratings

An ENDORSEMENT (E) indicates a vetted and recommended candidate based on 1) detailed interviews with the Stand4Jax leadership team to understand the candidate regarding their worldview and stances on key issues as compared to Biblical values; 2) voting records supporting Biblical values (for those candidates with voting records); and/or 3) thorough research evaluating candidate party and campaign platforms, background, training, and experience in defending a Biblical worldview and advancing those values. An endorsement indicates a confidence that this candidate will govern and vote according to a Biblical worldview.

A RELIABLE VOTE RATING (RV) indicates a vetted candidate meeting all or most of the endorsement standards to receive this recommendation. In this case, several secondary factors restrict a full endorsement, but all such rated candidates are counted as being reliable votes for a Biblical worldview to the best of our knowledge, especially compared to other choices in the race.

A PREFERRED RATING (P) indicates a candidate seems to be better or more competent than the other candidate(s) running in the same race, but who may also have a mixed record of supporting unbiblical policies. A preferred status could indicate that all candidates are either mediocre or weak on standing for biblical values, and we are simply recommending the slightly better candidate.
