Many people focus on DC, and neglect the local level
While what happens at the national level is important, many people do not realize that the local level often has a greater impact on their daily lives. From what our children are taught in schools to how our family is protected by law enforcement—change is made at the local level.
~75% of voters did not vote in a recent local election!
In one recent city election primary, less than 25% of eligible voters actually voted! That means that your vote in local elections is representing the voices of 75% of the city.
Many local elections are won or lost by a small number of votes.
Most local races are won or lost by a few hundred votes. Sometimes, (as seen below) races are incredibly close. Yes, YOUR VOTE MATTERS especially on the local level.
